Now the Lamb of God, with His nail scarred hands, is holding His precious little girl. It is of a little girl wearing a red hooded cape holding a precious little lamb in her arms. She had one of her favorite pictures hanging over the head of her bed. Perhaps if we all let our light shine half as much as Ona did, the world would be a little brighter.ĭuring her final days she was surrounded by family and loving care givers. She was often called "the unsinkable Molly Brown" as she always rose above any situation no matter how dire and encouraged others to do the same. In reflecting on Ona, one family friend wrote, "She was such a force of nature - so funny - so generous- just a lovely, lovely lady, and dearly loved." She was a rare jewel living a life as uncommon as her name.

It has been said that you only meet one Ona Miller in your lifetime.

She left such a positive impact on so many. Additionally, after raising her children she built and sold a telemarketing business where she made many lifelong friends. Throughout her life, she sang in many community and church choirs and also directed many youth and adult choirs. Upon retirement, she and Tom returned to Michigan living in Pine Point in Charlevoix which she came to love. Soon her travels as a military spouse took her from Michigan to Mississippi, New York, Nebraska, Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, Germany, Japan, and Maryland. She and Tom often took strangers in and even until her last days she had a knack for making strangers feel like good friends in a matter of a few hours.īorn and raised in Ferndale, Michigan, the youngest of four, she married her high school sweetheart, Tom Miller, whom she had known since before elementary school. She came to know Jesus the Lamb of God when she was a little girl. In addition, she abundantly loved many others and welcomed them as if they were her own, making room in her heart for them as her own children and grandchildren.īesides loving her family and many friends, Ona's childlike faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus was a mainstay, a guiding pillar, an internal compass, a foundation upon which she lived.

She lived a full life while on this earth most notably raising five kids and loving ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who affectionately called her “GoGo” (for Grammy Ona who was always on the go). There was an amazing reunion in Heaven the morning of Decemas dear friends and family members, including her beloved husband of 54 years, welcomed Ona O’Dell Sieloff Miller with open arms.
